This is the Napa Valley School of Hospitality's inaugural full-day immersion — a deep dive into the standards that define world-class service. Gillian is co-teaching with Brandon McKay (author of Unwavering Hospitality) and guest sommelier Sur Lucero, MS. You'll cover everything from wine production fundamentals and food pairing principles to hands-on sparkling wine service, decanting technique, and real service scenarios that separate good from unforgettable.
Who should go: Sommeliers, servers, floor managers, beverage directors, and anyone serious about leveling up their craft. Space is limited — this is designed to be a focused, high-quality room.

I’m always reading something—usually a mix of wine stuff, sci-fi weirdness, and books that make me think critically about our world. One of my 2026 intentions is to read 50 books for pleasure, plus important pieces of wine news and developments. I've been writing book reviews on Substack, too!

Non-Fiction:
99 Ways to Die: And How to Avoid Them by Ashley Alker, M.D. - A darkly humorous look at the bizarre and unexpected ways we can meet our end, written by an actual doctor. Equal parts medical expertise and morbid curiosity, and for me, perfect cozy reading. I love knowing how to avoid untimely death!
Fiction: Dead Astronauts by Jeff VanderMeer - Set in the same universe as Borne, which I loved and reviewed, this experimental novel follows three rebels fighting a massive biotech corporation across multiple realities. I'm ready for some mind-bending, multi-reality chaos!
